GCF

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is an international fund with a mission to lower greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries and to help adapt vulnerable societies to the impacts of climate change.
Established by 194 governments in December 2010, the Fund responds to climate change by investing into low-emission and climate-resilient programs.
Accountable to the United Nations, the GCF follows the provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is governed by a Board of 24 members .
The management of the day-to-day operations of the Fund is done by the GCF Secretariat who is fully independent and accountable to the Board.

engaging with the fund

In order for a country to engage with the fund they must:

Appoint and maintain a National Designated Authority (NDA).
Recognize and seek accreditation of entities to be able to access resources from the fund.
Through these accredited entities expand projects and programs to bring forward funding proposals.
